As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of mechanical systems within various building projects. Your focus will be on the development of efficient, sustainable, and code-compliant HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical, and plumbing systems that meet the performance and safety needs of each unique building environment.
Key Responsibilities
- HVAC System Design: Develop heating, cooling, and ventilation systems that ensure optimal indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
- Electrical System Planning: Design power distribution, lighting systems, and energy management solutions in accordance with building codes and sustainability standards.
- Complete energy modelling for small and medium sized buildings
- Prepare pemit documentaiton such as energy efficiency design summaries
- Plumbing and Piping Systems: Plan and lay out water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems with attention to reliability, efficiency, and long-term maintenance.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using CAD and BIM tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and clients to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall building design.
- Problem-Solving & Analysis: Conduct site assessments, perform load calculations, and troubleshoot design challenges during both the planning and construction phases.
- Code Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to local and national codes, regulations, and best practices including LEED, ASHRAE, and other industry benchmarks.
